We live in Hertfordshire and have a teenage daughter.

We bought The Yellow House in 2002 and have always loved Italy, buildings and restoration.   Some Italian friends have a property near Bolsena and after visiting the area we were struck by how unspoilt and beautiful it was.

Initially we looked at properties near Bolsena but could not find anything with enough seclusion or land.   We broadened our search and came across several possibilities, The Yellow House was our favourite.

At the time the house was a ruin and we spent 2 years on the restoration.   The project was great fun and we had lots of support from our now property manager, Kalle.

Parts of The Yellow House were renovated again in 2010.  The main change is the kitchen which has been extended to form a much larger kitchen dining area with modern professional kitchen (30ft x 12ft).
