The pizza oven is great fun to use for cooking pizza, sausages and joints of meat. If you want to try your hand at cooking pizza, you can either make your own dough or you can use fresh pizza dough from the local bakers, you will need to order this at least 24 hours in advance (approximately 200gm of fresh dough per pizza). We have tried various methods of making pizza and our most successful attempts so far involve baking the pizza in well oiled disposable aluminium foil trays, these are widely available in the local shops. The fire needs to be lit 2 hours before cooking so that only white hot cinders remain, these should be pushed to the sides of the oven to make room for the pizzas to be placed on the cleared stone. If the oven is hot enough, the pizzas take about 2-3 minutes to cook.
